Stallion Theme License
Each purchase entitles the user to use Stallion WordPress SEO on as many of their own domains as they like.
There’s currently no developer license. If I find a customer selling sites with the same Stallion ID that Stallion ID will be disabled.
If you own 1,000 sites you need one Stallion ID for your entire network.
If you sell sites running Stallion each site needs it’s own ID.
Basically one Stallion ID per user.

Theme Update
Has the new theme been released yet ?
Stallion Theme Update
Feature creep, have I ever mentioned feature creep before :-)
I’m very close to releasing Stallion 6.1, have add so many new features I’ve lost track.
If you’ve used the default TwentyEleven WordPress theme it includes a large header image that can be a rotating image from a set of defaults or an image of your choice, also if you set a featured image on a post of dimensions 1000px by 288px it’s used when that post is loaded. That feature is part of Stallion 6.1. Can be set to show the current Stallion header plus the entire TwentyEleven type header with image (so two types of header) and all combinations in between up to no headers at all.
Added an image based navigation menu with some fancy javascript rollover effects, basically you can select 5 posts for this image navigation menu (in a future release I’ll see if this number can be varied) by adding them to a menu and setting a 300px by 200px wide featured image.
Added background image support, you can upload your own background image.
Soon as I stop adding new features and test a couple of weeks will release Stallion 6.1.
David
Update : The Stallion TwentyEleven header image feature is better than the original TwentEleven theme header feature. In TwentyEleven you are limited to 8 default images, only way to change them is either hack the template files or upload your images over the default ones using the same filenames. In Stallion 6.1 there are multiple header sets and the ability to add your own sets of 8 images (same concept as the Stallion banner images with custom folders). Upload your 16 images (8 headers and 8 associated thumbnails) to a folder and select that custom set for your use.
Stallion Theme Update
Stallion WordPress SEO Theme 6.1 Update
The Stallion 6.1 update is almost ready for release, in the process of testing on live WordPress sites where any major problems should occur on my sites rather than yours :-) Estimate a week or so for testing before making the update available assuming no major problems.
Stallion 6.1 is currently running on this site using one of the new theme colours (Black Stallion Gradients : scroll up and down this page and you’ll see the colour gradients) and one of the new layouts (right sidebar).
Stallion 6.1 has a lot of new features (I’ve honestly lost count how many!), Stallion 6.0.1 had around 185 options not including plugin addons, Stallion 6.1 has over 230 options and more built in plugins and addons to plugins. Like with Stallion 6.0.1 if you aren’t using a feature I’ve coded the theme so as few files as possible will load, so if you don’t use AdSense, Clickbank and Chitika for example NONE of the relevant files for the ad code, widgets etc… are loaded beyond the main Stallion options pages (it’s like they don’t exist as WordPress never loads them). This means even though Stallion 6.1 is feature rich it’s impact on server resources is minimized (obviously if you turned on every feature it will have an impact), this site for example is loading in under a second according to the built in queries footer info that only logged in users see (Stallion 6 built in feature to help find problems), this page is currently showing “75 queries in 0.738 seconds”.
This is the first update where aesthetics has been a major factor (I’m normally all about SEO :-)) and have included some interesting image relevant features including a background image uploader, 1000px by 288px header image based on the new TwentyEleven theme header image area : has all the TwentyEleven theme header image features including the 8 headers that comes with TwentyEleven. I’ve improved this header feature, like the Stallion rotating banners where there’s sets of images, I’ve incorporated a similar function in Stallion 6.1, with TwentyEleven you are limited to the 8 default images and one you upload, with Stallion you have multiple sets of 8 (I’ve included 10 empty custom folder sets, so you can add 80 of your own images on top of ones that will be packaged with Stallion) and the one you upload.
There’s even better thumbnail support, on top of the automated thumbnails you have with Stallion 6.0.1 that picks the last image added to a post you can select a specific image to be used as a thumbnail using TimThumb.php version 2 that automatically zooms and crops images to thumbnails : means you can upload for example a 660px by 300px image and have TimThumb automatically generate a thumbnail with whatever dimensions (180px by 120px for example) you choose via the Stallion options page.
There’s an image based navigation menu, add 5 posts to a custom menu, give those 5 posts a Featured image with dimensions 300px by 200px and with a little bit of fancy javascript they slide over one another and link to their respective posts.
Stallion 6.1 includes a built in Featured Posts Slideshow. You can see it in action on this site on the home page and archive pages. Upload a reasonable sized image (the right sidebar layout uses 660px by 300px wide images for the slideshow : doesn’t have to be exact, TimThumb.php generates the image on the fly) to a post and set it to featured and up to 20 posts can be added to the slideshow. This image will also be used for the thumbnail as well.
There’s loads more new features, I’ve documented most of them on their respective options pages.

AdSense Ad Placements - One Column vs Two Column vs Three Column
I will be curious how the two column 2011 theme Vs. The three column Talian theme (I assume this will still be one of the options) will fare in terms of Adsense results. I also think you mentioned you will have a one column. I know many people discount one columns but a very successful forum I know generates a nice income stream with a one column layout with integrated Adsense (city-data).
I wonder if it would make any sense to have a few WP polls on your site to gather data about such things like column use and success or colors or placement and other ideas, although I do not know if WP polls create objective data to be frank. I mean the recycled heat map of Adsense has been the standard, but in a world which now uses the web differently with ipads and mobile phones and longer pages I wonder if the old Google heat map for Adsense is still the ultimate guide for optimizing income generation. Further does it apply for one or two or three column layouts with icons pulling the eyes all over the page?
I think there is a complex interaction between colors and columns and width and the human mind and other factors not talked about on a website in relation to Adsense that goes way beyond the heat map. Further, with human psychology of action I think this is an under studied idea. It is talked about in a general sense on forums but I would be curious to see some real tests and studies.
For the amount of money at stake with online money generation I am surprised at how many people are guessing (myself included) as opposed to objecting it. Can you imagine if there was a model of exogenous and endogenous variable with coefficients and correlations. That would be valuable or at least interesting.
Anyway, and sorry for this but it has to be said, I am sincerely appreciative of your hard work on this Stallion theme. The amount of creativity and heart and soul you put into this is really helps my online efforts as an entrepreneur. So I hope karmically or some how you are rewarded as the theme is pure value and contribution to other people’s lives, from a users standpoint.
Many people might just be coming across this WordPress theme for the first time and not realizes that is the culmination of years of experience with SEO and countless hours of inspiration and perspiration. So if anyone is considering trying this WP Theme, I would say yes it is worth it.
AdSense Ad Placements - One Column vs Two Column vs Three Column
Theme Layouts and AdSense Placement
There’s going to have to be a lot of testing to see which of the many theme layouts will work best for AdSense and even then each site is slightly different.
I’ve used WP Polls on sites and they aren’t very accurate, on my general election site it first had the BNP winning the general election (the BNP won ZERO seats) and in the end had the Liberal Democrats winning after the election TV debates (they came third). Basically couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried to get it wrong :-)
And yes there’s still the default three column version with 200px wide sidebars. I’ve barely scratched the surface of explaining possible layout options with Stallion 6.1.
Can only show one setup at a time here so doesn’t do the new layouts justice.
Loads of possible layouts not shown here, there’s 24 colour schemes, but two of each type, standard and gradients. The gradients uses CSS3 to give elements a graded coloured background. Not sure about some of the colours I’ve used, going to take another look at them before release.
Going to be fun setting up my 70 odd WordPress sites with different options :-)
I have to write tutorials for all this new stuff, still haven’t finished writing the Stallion 6.0 tutorials yet!!!

Help me
WordPress Ecommerce Plugins?
There are several WordPress ecommerce plugins, which one are you using?
If it’s a free plugin put the URL to the WordPress Plugin Repository page https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=ecommerce+&sort= ) and I’ll take a look.
Would help to have a URL of your site the plugin is running on (if the ecommerce plugin is active).
If it’s a premium WordPress plugin probably won’t be able to help much as can’t test.

Stallion Theme not a WordPress Plugin
The Stallion theme is a theme so needs to be installed via the theme installer not the plugin installer. The error above is because you’ve tried to install as a plugin.
Go to
Appearance >> Themes : Install Themes – Upload
To install as a theme.
