The Stallion Responsive Theme includes two built in header areas, these can be turned on/off independently of each other meaning you can have a WordPress blog with. Header area 1 (Stallion 2011 Header Area) Header area 2 (Alternative Stallion Header Area) 2 header entire areas (looks rubbish) Combination of the two (half of one, half of the other). No header areas This gives the Stallion Responsive theme users full control over how their WordPress blogs header area behaves and it’s all controlled by a few clicks of the mouse. Stallion Theme Header Areas Under “Stallion Theme” >> “Layout Options” : “Stallion Header Areas” you will find the following options that turn the header areas on/off: Each of the two WordPress […]

WordPress Right Aligned Header Area
Hi David. By default the homepage title and tagline are always on the left side of the header.
How do I move the homepage title and tagline to the right side of the header?
Can the font size of the title be adjusted without having to do it from the editor?
I’m not too keen meddling with editor. Afraid of messing up things. Thanks.
WordPress Header Area Layout
There’s currently one Stallion colour scheme that has the heading text on the right rather than the left and that’s Connections Reloaded (settings under Stallion Colour Options page.
There’s no Stallion option to switch the heading layout on other colour schemes, that would require editing the colours CSS file. For example if you run Stallion Delicate edit
style-delicate.css
Should be easy to change, find
Change to something like this
This should work with all colour schemes with minor adjustments.
Might want to play around with the padding for example to get the layout right. If you aren’t famlar with padding: 1px 2px 3px 4px; format the 4 sizes represent padding top, right, bottom, left, so the above is top 1px, right 2px, bottom 3px, left 4px.
The #stsearchform part changes the location of the search form, puts it below the heading text like you see with Connections Reloaded. top: 95px; means put the form 95px from the top, if the form is too high try top: 100px; if too low try top: 90px;. If you wanted the search form on the left instead of the right you’d use something like
The header widget area would be located on the right as well.
On changing font sizes, no built in Stallion option, it’s editing the CSS files.
Look for these two sets of CSS
And change the font-size.
The above covers the font size of the text size of the heading link back to home.
In the next update it will be easier to make these sorts of changes as child themes will be available, you’ll never have to edit a core Stallion file again for customizations. In another update thinking about adding an options page for over writing font sizes and colors, I’ve avoided this so far as has to be inline CSS which isn’t ideal.

Prime Ad Network
I have had this problem ever since I started using the theme just have not bothered to troubleshoot it until today. Every time I go to “Appearance -> Header” I get an error:
“You attempted to access the “Prime Ad Network” dashboard, but you do not currently have privileges on this site. If you believe you should be able to access the “Prime Ad Network” dashboard, please contact your network administrator.
If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one of your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.”
I’ve tried every combination of caching and security plugins including turning everything off. If I turn on the 2011 Header Area I the options for that but if 2011 is off and Original header is on I get the above error message.

Prime Ad Network
Stallion Header Images
The Prime Ad Network error message means either a page doesn’t exist or you shouldn’t be accessing it.
Like many Stallion features if a site is set not to use a feature none of the features code is even loaded by WordPress (conserves server resources). Which is why many Stallion features have to be turned on to use them, if you have no plans to use a feature turn it off and save resources.
The settings to have the 2011 header images work is
Stallion Theme >> Layout Options
Tick “Activate Stallion 2011 Header Area”
This settings activates the “Appearance >> Header” menu, if “Activate Stallion 2011 Header Area” is NOT ticked that link should not be present.
If you change the Stallion setting from on to off right after you save the Layout options page the “Appearance >> Header” link will still be present until you load another page (the Header options page is off, but the link is present on that one page temporarily). If you click the Header link you’ll get the error message.
If you go back to say your Dashboard and try to access the Header link it’s gone, if this is what you are seeing this is normal, it’s because I haven’t put a page refresh on all of the Stallion options pages after they are saved (cause problems when I do).
It sounds like you might be experiencing the above. It would be particularly confusing if you have the Header options page open in one browser window, turn the 2011 header area off via another browser window and try to refresh the Header options page over and over again while you try various settings to make it work.
If you wish to use the original Stallion header area with the 2011 header images the settings are:
Show Original Stallion Header Area
Original Site Title Link ON
Activate Stallion 2011 Header Area
2011 Simplified Title Link Area OFF
This basically activates both header areas, but turns off the simpler header text area so you only have one home page link and site description and since you have the original Stallion header area active you can also have the Original Stallion Header Area Header Image (under Stallion Theme >> Colour Options) on.

Stallion Header Images
Stallion Header Area Settngs
Show Original Stallion Header Area
Original Site Title Link ON
So using those two settings there will NOT be any header options for the image etc?
WordPress Header Image Options
If “Activate Stallion 2011 Header Area” is unticked yes, the two settings you listed are independent of this setting.
You can have both header areas on, but this doubles up your site title and looks terrible.
Sounds like you might be turning a feature on which adds the header options page, then turn it off and still trying to load the header options page?

I have it clear.
I was expecting header options where there were none.
Now I just await the triumphant arrival of settings import / export!

WordPress Flash Banner Widget
Hi David,

Thanks

Adding Flash Banner Ads to WordPress
If you are using a Text Widget and have the code right (fully formed HTML) it should work. The Stallion Custom Ad widget is only for images unless you use the content box at the bottom which is the same as a Text Widget.

How to Insert a SWF File Into WordPress
it’s weird but I cannot make it work. It shows up as it does not find the image…
This is the code:

Also, I’m trying to find my notes of instructions for adding a 728×90 .swf banner… do you have this handy? please
Thanks
Embedding a SWF File in WordPress
You’ve added it as a linked image (looks like you uploaded the swf file via the WordPress media uploader and inserted it as an image) to a text widget, swf files aren’t images they can’t be added that way, the code has to be embedded correctly.
Do a Google search for “Embedding an SWF File” and there will be loads of examples.
There’s no built in SWF file support in Stallion, no idea if WordPress has anything built in as I’ve never used an SWF file I’ve uploaded. As a side not your swf file works if you load it directly, all you have to do now is build the correct embed code so it works inside an HTML webpage and add it to a text widget instead of adding it as a linked image.

WordPress Header Image Error
I can make the Stallion Theme Colour Scheme dropdown menu work but
I can’t make Original Stallion Header Area Header Image menu work.
Installing WordPress Themes
Two problems with your install.
1st Stallion ideally would be installed under the folder
You have it under
I guess you’ve used FTP and uploaded the extracted zip folder /stallion-theme-7.1.1(1)/ which includes the folder /stallion-seo-theme/, you should only upload the folder /stallion-seo-theme/
2nd you have brackets in the folder name, I don’t think that’s valid for folders holding themes.
I’d activate the TwentyTwelve theme, delete the entire folder
Reinstall Stallion (only this folder from your PC /stallion-seo-theme/) into

Adding Custom WordPress Header Images
Hi David,
I am trying to add custom header image of size 1000*131 (c1.jpg),to the path “/wp-content/themes/stallion-seo-theme/headers/” thru FTP program Filezilla as name c1.jpg.
Filezilla shows file transfer status as successful, but I am not able to see the same image in Stallion theme “Original Stallion Header Area Header Image” dropdown.

Selecting a Custom WP Header Image
You’ve done the FTP part correctly, you can see the file is online at

Looks like you haven’t set it to the custom image.

Clickable Header Image for WordPress
Hello David,
Site title is off and I want the header image should be click-able so that anyone can go back to the home page quickly. Is it possible?
Clickable WordPress Header Area
Under Stallion Theme >> Layout Options your could
Activate Stallion 2011 Header Area
2011 Simplified Title Link Area OFF
and
Hide Original Stallion Header Area
With the Stallion 2011 Header Area the large image is clickable. Upload an image you like and you’ll have a clickable header image.
Difference between the default header area is the size of the image.
