Stallion WordPress SEO Theme Version 6.2 SEO Testing
Started to test Stallion 6.2 on this website (live sites is when the bugs show :-)). Thanks to those who gave feature requests (especially Mark who uses Stallion) for feature suggestions (used quite a few of them).
You can test the new Stallion colour schemes on the right menu, new WordPress Theme colours are Connections Reloaded, Coraline and Delicate (more to come in future updates). Can’t see them here, also added multiple Stallion 2011 Header Images sets including a money set.
Can’t show all Stallion features on one site, here I’ve activated the new features within the author biography, currently 8 image links to social network profiles, Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter etc… and a RSS feed link to Feedburner. The profile links are also replicated in a fixed floating section currently to the far right of the screen (can be on the left as well). Those worried about wasting link benefit these links have the option of built in Stallion link cloaking so no link benefit wasted. These links and other settings are added via a users profile page. I don’t really use all those social networks, so some of my profiles are a bit bare, if you have any suggestions for others to add LMK. Can technically add dozens, they only load when you add the social network profile links to your profile page.
Incorporated author archives back into Stallion (had the link disabled). When author profiles turned on there’s a profile link added to all archive pages. The author archives are NOT recommended on single user sites for SEO reasons (duplicate content issues, basically identical to home page archives: suppose you could turn them on if you have a static page for home), but could have a use on multi-author blogs as each author archive will be unique. This is a single user site so the feature (the author links) are turned off.
Added a new recent comments widget with gravatars and comment excerpt (see menu). I looked for a long time for a plugin that would achieve this sort of recent comments widget that was SEO friendly and found none, so took a plugin that came close and made it much better SEO wise. Might create a stand alone plugin with this code.
Added the new Google Translation widget (translate your site into loads of languages) and YouTube RSS Feed widget.
Try a search using the search form and checkout the new search feature that rather than showing the standard archive excerpt shows an excerpt that includes the keywords searched for and they are highlighted.
See the new navigation menu within the footer, could be used for adding privacy and similar links easily.
Added new static page templates including one that shows the latest 25 comments in full example at Recent Discussions will make reading new comments for regular visitors much easier, rather than having to visit multiple pages to see if there’s comments worth reading/commenting on they are all on one page with a link to the original comment/post for commenting: I’ll see if I can’t add a reply to link as well like I did with the Stallion SEO Super Comments pages.
There’s other behind the scenes features, like updated the code that lists the SEO damaging settings associated with the Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin (the author had changed some settings names, so some of the Stallion warnings no longer showed).
Assuming no major issues show up in the tests should release Stallion 6.2 before the end of the month.

Do Follow Links?
Hi David,
I’m trying to pass some link juice from my Stallion footer – I put in some html and tagged it do follow with rel=”follow”, but it’s still “nofollow”.
What is making the footer to make the links i added nofollow?
Nofollow Links
The Stallion Theme doesn’t add nofollow to any links, nofollow links deletes link benefit and Stallion has been designed to remove all nofollow links from a WordPress site.
I checked the URL you added to your comment and that’s not running the Stallion theme, the site is running Polyon Futuristic WordPress Theme.
Are you sure you are using Stallion?

WordPress SEO Theme Options
I just bought your theme then I used the transaction id to update my adsense and others. I place them already but after reloading the page, everything turns to the previous one that is your default (your adsense id, clickbank id, or others). So, there is no any change. Hope you guide me more !
Thank

Sounds like you are entering the wrong code for the ID, when copying and pasting you can pull up extra spaces at the start/end of the code and having an extra space isn’t the right ID.
I’ve entered your email address to the transaction ID reminder form so you’ll have an email just with the Stallion ID, just in case you were using the wrong ID completely (it happens :-)).
There’s a ‘querk’ with the Stallion activation system when the wrong ID is added, after adding something to the Stallion Transaction ID form it always looks like it activated, doesn’t matter what you add the options page shows the AdSense settings etc…
For those interested it’s because the ID is added to the database, the options page checks there’s an ID in the database and finds an ID and loads the full options page, if it’s the wrong ID the options page deletes the ID from the database, but the page hasn’t reloaded so you still see the options (tried to add a page refresh in there but had problems with it, so added some text when the wrong ID is found, but it can be confusing: something I want to improve in the future). When loading the options page again it finds the ID is blank in the database so doesn’t show the full options page. So it’s working exactly how it should, but no refresh so a user knows the ID is right/wrong.
For a user who adds the correct ID it’s not an issue, but for those that add the wrong ID, but believe they have the correct ID it looks like the options page is broken.
The solution is add your email address to the reminder form to confirm you are using the right ID and make sure there are no spaces before or after your ID as you copied it.
If that doesn’t work let me know. If you think something is broken I can take a look by loging into a site, but send me the details by email not via a comment as it could go public if I’ve already approved one of your comments.

Free Premium Theme Updates?
Hi David,
Do you offer free updates on your premium themes?
I didn’t see it listed anywhere and sorry if missed.
Stallion SEO Theme Free Updates
Yes as long as I develop the Stallion WordPress SEO Theme V7.*, updates will be free to customers who paid for Stallion v7.*.
If I ever decide not to develop Stallion any further I’ll give a years warning. It’s 2012 in a few days, have no plans to stop developing Stallion so expect at least one years worth of free updates :-)
If version 7.* ever becomes out of date to a point I need to make a new theme framework because the changes require a new theme install, that would be a new premium theme. When I developed Stallion 6 which was based on Talian 5 there were too many changes and had to make it a new theme, but gave a free upgrade to all Taliam customers. The Stallion 6 to 7 upgrade was a major feature upgrade, but the same theme.
I plan to make Stallion the most feature rich WordPress theme available (might already be the most feature rich???).
It’s already the best WordPress SEO theme available and a strong contender for the best WordPress Ad theme.

Stallion SEO Theme Free Updates
WordPress Design
Hello Dave,
I like to buy this theme. I think I have to try this theme. Is it possible if want the theme like this site? white background and right sidebar and content which it looks great as yours here.
Thank you.
WordPress Theme Colour Styles
The Stallion theme site (this site) runs on default Stallion 6.2 (latest version right now December 2011).
Stallion includes 27 colour schemes (more to come in the future), this site uses Stallion Delicate. You can get a taste of them all on the right menu under the heading “Stallion Colour Switcher” that theme colour switcher is achieved using a free plugin called “Chameleon CSS” – I wouldn’t use the ability to switch colour schemes on sites generally, just for this site to show the Stallion colour styles.
Everything you see on this site is default Stallion except-
The Related Articles list at the bottom of posts is a free plugin I’ve modified called “Contextual Related Posts SEO Version”, download from one of my other sites at WordPress SEO Plugins.
The Aweber “Free Stallion Theme Updates” form on the right menu, that’s an Aweber form copy and pasted into a Text widget.
The Add to Cart Button, ability to buy Stallion, which is a premium plugin.
The ability to subscribe to comments is the free plugin “Gurken Subscribe to Comments”.
Everything else you see is built into Stallion. Obviously I had to make the images used in the top slider menu, the Stallion Support image etc…, but the slider code is built into Stallion. There’s another post slider built into Stallion, but I don’t use it on this site.
So yes :-)

WordPress Admin Login Error
Hi Dave,
up loaded the theme on Jan. 07-2012 by secure FTP. was looking fine!
Did not get back to WordPress till today at /wp-admin log in I got this double warning & error message message: (i used xx’s to block out unnecessary data
not sure if I need to remove & start all over, at any rate not letting me in to wordpress admin area.
what is this: for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’)
When trying to see if i could work with the function.php missing file, i could not open to see what was actual missing! Please advise?
WordPress Admin Login Error
WordPress Login Error Fix
If this was right after FTP upload and it never worked looks like a failed upload or a corrupt zip file since that error suggests at least one file is missing online.
Do you see the missing file
On your computer (offline)?
If that file is on your computer and you’ve used the extracted zip file to install on other domains with no problem that would point to failed FTP upload (I’ve had Filezilla completely mess up an FTP upload, put parts of an upload in the wrong folder online!) in which case I would delete (via FTP) the online folder
and try FTP again.
BTW By deleting the above folder is a quick WordPress login error fix if the error is due to a theme/plugin, it will force WordPress to activate the default TwentyEleven theme, so if you ever find yourself locked out of the Dashboard by a broken theme or plugin deleting the problem theme/plugins folder deactivates the theme/plugin giving you Dashboard access etc… Don’t forget you’ll need the TwentyEleven theme installed (or whatever the default is at the time), so if you delete the TwentyEleven theme on your installs (I used to) you won’t have the backup theme.
If this is your first Stallion installation with that zip file download again from to rule out a corrupt zip file and try again. When you extract the zip file keep a look out for corrupt file error messages.
If a newly downloaded zip file/FTP upload generates the same error there’s a chance your server is running security software that doesn’t like obfuscated PHP code and might be treating files with obfuscated code as potentially damaging code and deletes the files! So far had one customer with this problem, basically some hosts run security scripts that look for obfuscated code because hackers tend to hide their code by obfuscating it, great idea to assume all obfuscated code is a security risk IF developers didn’t use obfuscated code as well :-)
Stallion has some of the Stallion ID activation code obfuscated to slow down those who null themes (remove the activation system) and give them away for free. Probably not the issue, but to confirm this you’d upload Stallion as before and check what was uploaded into /wp-content/themes/stallion-seo-themes/ if files like ttk_functions.php are missing you know the problem.
LMK how you get on, good to rule out potential Stallion bugs.
