I’ve been doing more SEO link building lately for clients (work for a local web design company) and have been amazed at how much work it takes to build backlinks.
Google wants everyone to create great content and “the links will follow”.
Great idea, and where Google wants to get to, but from my experience not an overly idealistic representation of where we are.
Links are as important as ever but have become much more difficult to acquire.
Good content is only a starting point, but it needs to be read and found by the right people, those few individuals in each industry that create links.
