My Talian theme stopped working. No images are showing up. It just stopped working when I upgraded wordpress. Could you tell me if the most recent wordpress upgrade is affecting the theme?
I have also uploaded the stallion theme? Do I upload it as a new theme or is it an upgrade for talian theme?

You’ve probably got a plugin that needs updating that’s broken your site as Talian 5 showed no issues with any version of WordPress 3.* (tested on them all including alpha, beta and release candidates of WordPress 3.1) same for Stallion.
Interesting WordPress appear to be already working on WordPress 3.2, have the nightly bleeding edge builds and it’s called 3.2 (Talian and Stallion work on it fine).
I would check if any of the plugins you are using are causing an error in WordPress 3.1. If you think it’s Talian 5 to blame you can delete the Talian 5 folder and as long as TwentyTen is available that will activate. If it’s still broken it’s not Talian 5. Use the same deleting plugins concept to test your plugins, unfortunately unless you can track it down via a Google search or two it’s guessing which plugin might be to blame.
Although Stallion is based on Talian, it’s a new theme and is installed separately. So it’s not a direct upgrade, you need to input settings from scratch for Stallion. You’ll understand why when you install it, there’s 9 pages of options (almost 200 options) would have been really difficult to import the Talian settings, especially as I rewrote pretty much every variable and function so they’d not clash with any plugins.

Just to confirm we are talking broken (no text, no images, nothing showing at all) here and not just changed?
After reading again you might be referring to the excerpt feature of both Talian and Stallion. To prevent duplicate content issues archive pages like the home page only show a short excerpt of the page.
If you use the Post Teaser plugin: free download from WordPress SEO Plugins you can change the default Talian/Stallion behaviour of the archive pages.

Do you have any idea what this means below:
My Talian site has this plastered on top of the page and the theme is no longer centered but has moved to the left side page. I was adding some plugins and getting ready to upgrade to the Stallion 06 theme and all of a sudden this warning came up.
Please let me know if you’ve ever seen anything like this.

Magic Template Wordpress Plugin Broken
Not seen the error before, either the plugin in the folder /wpec_magic_template/ (Magic Template WordPress Plugin) is broken or it’s clashing with another plugin or the theme.
Have you checked the Magic Template Plugin creators site or Google for this sort of error, might be a known issue with a fix?
I looked the plugin up and it’s a theme options plugin, since Talian and Stallion both have their own options pages there’s a chance they are clashing. Also found the error on other sites running other WordPress themes, so it’s not a Talian/Stallion specific plugin interaction error.
Since the plugin isn’t free I couldn’t investigate further, you’ll need to go to the plugins author for support.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is very puzzling to me as I have never installed a plugin or theme called “Magic Template WordPress Plugin”.
This plugin is not located in either admin or network admin areas.
So now I’m not sure what to do other than delete the entire site and start over?

Magic Template WordPress Plugin
The plugin must be installed as otherwise you wouldn’t have the Magic Template WordPress plugin error. Looks like it’s a paid for plugin as well, so guess you bought it as well. Did someone else install the site?

If you can’t figure out how to disable it via the WordPress plugins menus you can get rid of it by going to the folder:
/wp-content/plugins/
and delete the folder:
/wpec_magic_template/
When the files are missing for a plugin WordPress disables the plugin. You can use an FTP program like Filezilla to delete the folder or you might have the ability built into your webhosts control panel.

Well, you were correct… I still can’t figure out why it did not show up in the wp admins? I apparently did install the wpec_magic_template at one time (must have been long ago) because the damn thing apparently never worked and I just forgot about it.
On another note?… can I uninstall the MPP without it hurting Talian. I’m going to take your advice about “Never use an important domain for auto blogging” and tone down the categories and posts at my site.
I think this google slap on “content farms” zeros in first on how much adsense you’re using… just my thought.

Talian Theme Works on any WordPress Site
Talian and Stallion both work on any WordPress site, so you can safely uninstall the Massive Passive Profits Plugin.
You have to be very careful with important domains, I tried selling links from a recipe site of mine with thousands of visitors a day (think it was around 12,000 visitors a day at the time) and it was slapped with a Google penalty and has never recovered (around 3,000 visitors a day now). I removed the links, admitted the mistake in a re-inclusion request, but so far no recovery (couple of years of lost traffic).
Even people who have been doing this for a decade make dumb decisions at times :-)

How to Upgrade Premium Themes?

I purchased both talian 5 ( in 2010) and stallion. I haven’t tested out the stallion yet since I bought it last month. I would like to upgrade some of my sites from talian 5 to stallion. Is there any specific instructions I need to follow? Or I just change the theme in the wp admin and that’s it? I hope there is more detail instruction about the conversion. Such as the banner images in talian will still shows up on stallion?
How to Upgrade Premium Themes?
New Premium WordPress Theme
Although Stallion 6 is based on Talian 5 it’s a new premium WordPress theme with most of the code rewritten so it’s not actually an update of Talian 5.
When you install Stallion 6 it doesn’t use anything from the Talian 5 installation (no settings are imported), you can have Talian 5 and Stallion 6 setup at the same time (one activated one not) and theoretically switch between them : the widgets may mess up mind you if you did that as some have the same names.
So install Stallion 6 like you would any new WordPress theme.
Some of the Talian 5 banners are not included in Stallion 6, there are more banners in Stallion 6, but not always the same ones.
You can copy banners from Talian 5 to Stallion 6 easily, put which ever sets missing that you use into the custom folders (there’s 5 of them) built into Stallion 6. See Stallion Theme Colours, Banners and Header Image Options for instructions.

You sure the emails from me (I deal with all Talian 5 and Stallion 6 support) since I’d only advise not using the Massive Passive Profits plugin on sites you can’t afford to have banned by Google? In my experience all sites running autoblog plugins are downgraded in Google long term, it’s a risk you take when you autoblog, so if you have a popular site it’s a big risk autoblogging.
Stallion 6 works like any other WordPress theme regarding plugins, you install them either via FTP or the built in plugin installer. If you can’t install plugins generally it’s highly unlikely to be a theme at fault.

Installing WordPress Themes?
Hi, I had deleted the email it was referring to my post yesterday, maybe it was not you, but your insight on the theme is appreciated.
What I did was installed the theme not through the normal plug in upload I think if I got it right I tried to follow the instruction given and ended up going to the stallion theme panel to the left under appearance and clicking the stallion icon and it appeared and replaced my old theme.
If that not the correct way then I will have to do everything over which might take me half the day, unless you know of a more safer way?

WordPress Themes and WordPress Plugins Confusion
The Stallion SEO Theme is a WordPress theme, not a WordPress plugin so you must have installed it into the themes folder as it wouldn’t work otherwise (your site looks fine).
WordPress has two ways to change what WordPress does, generally speaking a theme which is mostly presentation and plugins that can change/add features to core WordPress. There is some overlap (Stallion theme includes built in plugins), but easier to remember if you think theme = what it looks like.
Massive Passive Profits Autoblog Plugin is a WordPress plugin and will work with the vast majority of WordPress themes including Stallion 6. Sounds like you are mixing up themes and plugins. Each site can run one theme, but loads of plugins.

David, the above website was a massive profits website and is no longer active, but I had talian 5.0 installed with it. I now want to install the theme on a new website, but I see that I can now get the Stallion upgrade.

I keep having some of the post showing up at the very top of the page in the black header bar. What is causing this? I have never seen it do this before when i have been using Talian theme

WordPress RSS Feed Excerpt Broken
Without a URL difficult to determine the issue, however it sounds like the meta description tags are messing up. Had a few reports of this, it’s related to broken RSS feeds, an RSS feed excerpt shouldn’t contain HTML code, but on the problem sites they do.
As I don’t have access to the sites with the issue haven’t been able to narrow down the exact cause, I suspect it’s WordPress plugins that interact with the RSS excerpt (what Stallion uses to generate the meta description tag).
Since the Stallion meta description tag isn’t important, has no ranking value (I don’t use meta description tag on my sites) if you can’t figure out what’s broken on your WordPress installation disable the Stallion meta descriptions via Stallion SEO Advanced Options page >> tick Automated Meta Description Tag OFF, also tick Automated Meta Keywords OFF as well as also uses the RSS excerpt.

Talian 5 lacks options to turn the meta tags off, easiest way to remove them is edit the header.php file and find the lines:

Thanks for posting which Plugin was messing up the RSS feed, installed Addthis on a test server and found the issue. Makes no sense to add it to the RSS excerpt, there’s an option to turn it off on Excerpts (under Addthis Advanced settings), but has no impact on this issue.
