Comment on Installing a WordPress Theme by SEO Dave.

WordPress Theme Installer Sounds like your development server is missing an Apache module or something your live server has. In Talian 5 that ad is held in an include file, so if it’s not showing might be a setting related to PHP includes. Try turning more modules on/checking PHP settings until it works. Also check you’ve not added a space to your pub-number as that breaks the AdSense code.

The calendar widget is an SEO disaster and I’ve not supported it in Talian 5 (css code removed) and in Stallion 6 I’ve removed it completely (will no longer show on the widgets page).

This default WordPress widget is so poorly coded and SEO damaging you should not use it in it’s current form. Every day link on the calendar holds the text content of an entire post in the title attribute of each link! Imagine having a blog with a new post every day, that’s the full text content of 28-31 posts just within that widget, that’s potentially making each page ~30x bigger than they should be and for no gain!!!

If you still want to include a calendar widget I can post the CSS you’d need to add to the style.css file?
