Reviewing the Squirrly SEO WordPress SEO Plugin which is a premium plugin that costs $20 a month. Since I already know how to search engine optimize a WordPress post I wouldn’t pay $20 a month for a plugin that pretty much measures keyword density and checks if a keyword is included in the title tag, alt text, body content etc… So my Squirrly SEO review is based on testing the light (free) version of the plugin running under Localhost (testing on a PC). I’ve been developing WordPress SEO themes for so long that the vast majority of SEO features I use are built into the Stallion Responsive theme (best WordPress SEO theme available) because so few WordPress plugin developers get the SEO spot on. WordPress SEO Tutorial updated February 2014 WordPress by default does not include the ability to automatically link related posts together. It’s unfortunate because the vast majority of Related Post WordPress Plugins I’ve tested (tested a LOT) get it wrong, not from an SEO perspective per se (most aren’t great SEO wise, but they are OK), but inefficient in the way they generate the related posts (poor PHP coding/database management) which means we can’t use them since page speed is an important SEO metric and most related posts plugins slow a site down. It’s a common misconception there’s a difference between a WordPress Plugin and a WordPress Theme code wise, they are both code addons to WordPress Core and run in exactly the same way code wise other than plugins are run before the theme code (I’ve found that tends not to matter). Whether a plugin or a theme it’s just extra code WordPress core uses to generate a site.
