A new feature from the Google AdSense ads team, the ability to have very or slightly rounded corners on the borders of your Google AdSense Ad units. Have changed the Talian 5 WordPress AdSense theme to use very rounded corners and I like it, so have updated all my WordPress AdSense themes to have the option of using/not using very/slightly rounded corners and have sent out an update to all WordPress with SEO/AdSense themes customers for free (all themes updated and working with WordPress 2.5+). What’s a Rounded Google AdSense Corner? Not got a clue what a rounded corners ad looks like, well the image to the left is what an AdSense Slightly Rounded Corners ad looks like and the […]

AdSense Ads Not Working
I don’t know if you can help me but I’ve obviously done something wrong. When I first uploaded this theme everything seemed to be fine and Adsense was showing.
Suddenly now Clickbank is fine but no Adsense.
I have spent hours checking on the Asdsense home site, gone through the troubleshooting – viewed the source etc. and it is there. So I’m stuck!
I feel I should delete everything and start again but I have uploaded the Massive Passive plugin and as I am a newbie I don’t know what ramifications that will have! Please can you help and give me some advice?

AdSense Ads Not Working
AdSense Publisher ID
You’ve added an extra space after your Google AdSense publisher ID.
So where you should add
“pub-1234567890” you’ve added
“pub-1234567890 ” and that breaks the AdSense code.
Go to the Talian options page and remove the space after your AdSense Publisher ID, “Store Options” and it should work.

Reasons Why AdSense For Content Ad Units Not Showing Ads
So your sites suffering from a combination of Public Service ads and not showing ads on all AdSense ad blocks.
This is usually caused by a combination of it being a new site to AdSense and the content not being of the type that AdSense advertisers want to pay decent money for.
For this first part of the problem it’s waiting for The AdSense spider to spider all your content and decide what ads to show.
Second problem nothing you can do about it if your content doesn’t generate a lot of advertisers beyond changing your content.
If you find this problem doesn’t sort itself out in a few weeks (gives AdSense plenty of time to spider and decide what ads to show) consider reducing the number of ad blocks so those that are left are more likely to be filled with ads.
You can remove ad blocks via the adsense.php file (instructions within and I’ve mentioned it in other comments). I would suggest starting with the search type ads followed by the bottom content ad unit so the sidebar ad is more likely to show ads.
The search box you see on your yoga site is generated automatically by AdSense (you have no control). You tend to get that type of format when the AdSense bot hasn’t decided what ads to show or there’s no advertisers wanting clicks from your content (another symptom of the issue mentioned above).
If a sites visited on a regular basis it should fix itself within a couple of weeks IF there are advertisers willing to pay for ads. If there aren’t advertisers willing to pay you won’t get ads. Yoga seems like the sort of content that should have advertisers so I’d expect this to be a temporary issue. You could always look for a few sites that are in that niche who have AdSense ads (check yoga sites until you find some with AdSense on them) to see if they have a variety of ads, if they have the same problem you know time won’t fix this.
I have classic literature sites with AWFUL AdSense coverage! Lucky to get 10 cents a click, most ads are of the type where the advertisers wants any traffic for cheap, so the CTR is really low as well.

Sex Toys AdSense Ads
hello i today i purchased your talian theme. installation was a breeze, I’m only using adsense at the moment, but i keep getting this sex toys little word ad, is this part of your SEO LOL i have a parenting site!!!
thanks
Adult AdSense Ads on Non-Adult sites
Sex toys ads with AdSense hey :-)
It’s probably due to a combination of the content on your site and that AdSense has just been added. Should improve assuming your content doesn’t include sex toy relevant keywords, for example you might have a page about battery operated toys for kids and the word adult is used, to AdSense that’s also relevant to vibrators etc…!
If you find the problem doesn’t resolve itself or you want to deal with it now you can block specific advertisers via your AdSense account and block specific sectors as well.
For blocking specific advertisers see “Account Setup” >> “Competitive Ad Filter”
I’ve found those really irritating dieting ads that show on loads of different sites don’t perform well so blocked them for my AdSense account. I only have one unimportant site that has anything to do with dieting, so not covering that niche. Unfortunately you can’t block ads on specific domains of yours, so has to be for your entire account!
And for entire niches see “Account Setup” >> “Ad Review Centre”
You could block the “Sexual & Reproductive Health” section.
Funny that AdSense have advertisers selling sex products but don’t allow any type of adult site in the program. I have an old adult site that just lists lingerie and sex toys (affiliate products, sort of stuff you can buy on the high street) and can’t run AdSense on it.
BTW I originally got into web design and SEO as my first online business was selling sex toys and lingerie (the site I now have an affiliate site on). £80,000 in sales in the first full year trading thanks to SEO as well, but didn’t enjoy the adult niche so after learning SEO offered SEO services and have never looked back.

AdSense Showing Public Service Ads
Having problems with adsense. When I first download the Talian 05 theme with your adsense id, everything looks good. But when I put mine in, it doesn’t. Just shows PSA’s.
I went to my adsense account and it says that everything is active and ads will show. I don’t know what to do. So frustrated. I’ve tried to contact google but it is impossible to actually communicate with a live person to figure out whats going on. Praying that you can help. Thanks
AdSense Showing Public Service Ads
Your pages are displaying Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) because you have not yet verified your PIN and/or phone number.
That’s interesting. Is your AdSense account new?
Did a little research and found which basically says
“Your pages are displaying Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) because you haven’t yet verified your PIN and/or phone number.”
I’ve been an AdSense publisher for over 5 years and you didn’t have to verify anything when I joined. Would appear you have to verify an account before the Public Service Ads are removed.
Is this the problem?

How To Verify an AdSense Account
Did the phone thing and it said i still need to do the pin but my account was active and could still post ads, so not sure whats going on. I put my wifes adsense id in and it didn’t work either and hers is relatively new.

AdSense Not Showing up on WordPress
I have opened a adsense account and been approved. They state that the ads will start showing up in a few hours but ir has been 24 hours and nothing still. I have put my pub code in the right place and it is just showing blank spaces where the ads should be. Is there something else i need to do or is this adsense still not caught up with starting to add ads
Thanks, Darren

Google AdSense Ad Code Broken
The problem is with the copy and pasting of your Google AdSense publisher ID into the Talian 5 AdSense ID box, you copy and pasted some space which broke the AdSense code.
Go back to the Talian options page and make sure there are no spaces before and after your AdSense ID. Currently there’s one extra character after your AdSense ID.
After removing that space and saving the Talian options page the ads should show up.
