Google PageSpeed Insights Size Tap Targets
Been working on fixing Google PageSpeed Insights Size Tap Targets Appropriately warnings for this website and the WordPress theme I develop (Stallion Responsive: which is running on this site). Version 8.0 of Stallion Responsive was released (February 2014) before Google added Size Tap Targets Appropriately warnings in May 2014 (weird name for the warnings, “Appropriately”!) to it’s PageSpeed Insights Tool output: part of the new Mobile User Experience results. Size Tap Targets Appropriately When Google added those new pagespeed metrics for mobile devices my PageSpeed Insights scores for mobile user experience dropped in May: looks like they’ve completely changed the rating system, I was getting 90/100 before the changes, after May was significantly lower. It’s taken two days and a […]
WordPress Page Template – Content and Archives
This is the output of a Stallion Responsive Theme Landing Page Template Test. The WordPress Page Template is called “Front 1 – Page Content and Archive Posts” and is built into the Stallion Responsive WordPress SEO Package v8+. You’ll find the WordPress template file under /stallion-responsive/page-front-01.php It’s not really meant for use as a WordPress Post (this article you are reading now is a WordPress Post), but I can’t show multiple landing pages (home pages) template tests with only one home page :-) WordPress Custom Landing Page Archives Template As you can see from this page the output is a normal post/pages content at the top (what you are seeing and reading now) and near the bottom 10 WordPress posts […]
WordPress Technical Support
Most of this website is dedicated to supporting the Stallion Responsive WordPress SEO Package I develop. You’ll find various Stallion Responsive Tutorials and plenty of references to how Stallion works throughout articles within this website even when the articles aren’t specifically about the Stallion SEO package: examples include the general SEO Tutorial Series and the WordPress SEO Tutorial Series. Over the years I’ve offered a lot of free tech support for WordPress users and it can get frustrating when asked the same question that is answered and just a couple of clicks away from the visitor. You will find a simple list of all main articles on this website within the Sitemap, the sitemap is categorized so easy to find […]

WordPress Theme Reviews
There are many WordPress Themes that are advertised as SEO friendly or SEO optimized, but very few actually are search engine optimized themes. I’ve spent almost a decade working with WordPress and almost as long developing WordPress SEO themes. To date (June 2014) I haven’t reviewed a WordPress theme (not developed by yours truly :-)) that was search engine optimized anywhere near the standard of my SEO themes. I’ve been that confident in my WP themes I’ve offered up to $5,000 for the first person who finds a WordPress theme that offers all the SEO features of the themes I develop plus one more SEO feature. No one has come close to claiming a cash prize. So you think a […]
Meta Description Tag
I create Search Engine Optimized WordPress Themes and include both the keywords meta tag and description meta tag in the WordPress themes mostly because customers expect them. As an experienced SEO consultant I know meta tags today (2014) have little search engine value beyond blocking search engines from indexing pages, caching them etc…, the keywords meta tag for example is ignored by major search engines, Google in particular ignores the keywords meta tag completely. If I developed the Stallion Responsive SEO Package only for my own use, it would not include the keywords meta tag feature (complete waste of time). Meta Description Tag That being said the description meta tag has some value because Google might use it as the […]
