Update June 2014, the free Arclite AdSense WordPress theme hasn’t been updated for around 5 years, have no plans to update it in the near future. If you are looking for a free AdSense WordPress theme use the Talian 5 AdSense theme, looking for a WP theme with AdSense, Chitika, Kontera, Infolinks and custom ads built in, plus awesome SEO features see the Stallion Responsive Premium theme (not free). Consider Arclite as an archived WP theme, will probably have issues with latest version of WordPress. Since it takes so long to convert a WordPress theme to Search Engine Optimized (SEOing a theme in particular takes forever) and AdSense Ready (not too difficult to add AdSense if the options are limited) […]

Free AdSense Theme Updates
Hey great stuff, any more updates on the theme…Like text links (adsense) above the headline of the content would be good as well to add..
Is there any way we can have the categories on the above right go down.. cause i have a few categories, cause of this the ads on the sidebar are moving lower and lower.
Free AdSense WordPress Themes
This free AdSense WordPress themes won’t include the text link ad units, those are added to my premium AdSense/SEO themes.
I’m adding the free AdSense themes to test out how popular some themes are. If Arclite with AdSense becomes popular (as a free download, lots of user Arclite comments) I might completely convert this to AdSense/SEO Arclite version which will include text link ad units (will be for sale).
Don’t worry will also leave the free version up.
Your categories problem if I understand correctly should be solvable by moving the categories widget below the AdSense ad unit widget via the WordPress built in widget options page.
If you’ve not tried widgets before they are great for customizing a WordPress blog, you get to build your menu how you want it.

Upload AdSense to WordPress
I followed your directions but when it got to the part about uploading the template to my wordpress blog, you lost me.
I can find no button or menu item that will allow me to upload anything to my themes.
Please help.
Thanks.
AdSense on WordPress.com Blogs
Free wordpress.com blogs, like yours don’t have the ability to use any WordPress AdSense themes like this one.
Not only can you not upload a theme like this to a myblog.wordpress.com blog, you aren’t allowed to use ad programs like AdSense on those WordPress.com blogs anyway.
To use a WordPress theme like Arclite with AdSense you have to use the self hosted version of WordPress downloaded from wordpress.org (for free) and install it on a domain (you’ve paid for) using an FTP program.

Free WordPress Ad Template
I am interested in starting a WordPress blog but am just looking into hosts and templates etc.
I am hoping for a free WordPress Ad template since I realize it will take quite some time to earn any income off this blog site.
Do u have a template that allows search within the site and a couple different types of ad displays-in addition to adsense?
I like the large band for picture on top with 3 columns and a thin band for navigation of site below picture band.
I do like the overall look of the template, does that offer everything I would need?
Is it SEO and RSS included as well?
If you have any advise for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Adding AdSense to WordPress
Hey David
I have a blog already set up with the standard version of this theme. Is there a way to upload your edited template, without undoing my whole blog formatting?
I’ve edited the CSS a bit to get it to where it is now, and would like to maintain it but still get the ad space opportunity.
Thanks for your guidance!
Melanie
Testing WordPress Themes
It’s been a while since I looked at the Arclite code, but reasonably confident I made no changes to the css files beyond renaming the themes name so it didn’t clash with Arclite original.
You should be able to install Arclite with AdSense separately for testing. As long as the Arclite developer hasn’t made any major changes to the widget setup of Arclite, Arclite with AdSense should work with your current setup minus your CSS changes.
So you should be able to activate Arclite with AdSense and if you don’t like it reactivate Arclite original with no negative impact on your setup.
If it works you should be able to copy the CSS files from Arclite original into the Arclite with AdSense theme folder: you should first edit the main style.css file and change the name of the theme to:
Theme Name: Arclite AdSense 01
to prevent clashes with Arclite original.
Note I used Arclite 1.5.4 to create Arclite with AdSense, Arclite is currently at version 2.0.3. You should check there are no important features added between those two versions.
