There’s quite a bit of confusion over 301 redirects and how they effect SEO and a sites rankings. I’ve extensively used permanent 301 redirects on both my own and SEO client sites and in this SEO tutorial I’ll explain how to use 301 redirects for a Linux Apache server and what you should expect SEO wise. I’ve NOT included a redirect tutorial for Windows Server 301 Redirects since they don’t use a .htaccess file like you use with Apache servers. Also note adding 301 redirects using a .htaccess file is not the only way to add 301 redirects for a website running under Linux, there’s PHP redirects and server side redirects added via Apache config files, so this is just […]

X-cart 301 Redirects?
This worked for all but redirecting my www. names that are contained within X-cart’s store on my site.
Is there something that I need to do within the htaccess file? or something I need to look at within x-cart?
Anybody?
Thanks.
X-cart www or non-www Redirect Options

How to 301 Redirect .net .com .org?
what if I have over 3 domains and I want them all to redirect to one domain?
Country Domain 301 Redirects .htaccess file
Add a .htaccess file to each domain you don’t want to use to the domain you do want to use.
If you planned to use the .com you’d setup a .htaccess file with this in the other two:
The one above redirects the .org to .co.uk. so that would go in the root of the .org site.
For a .net domain replace org with net.
The above is also set to redirect the non-www to the www version of the domain.

301 Redirect for Dummies
That was great I understood perfectly. If there is a book about this for dummies, this should be in it. Probably not aimed at the lowest common denominator. Though like any good web layout it works o. Every monitor ;~)
